Privacy Policy
1. Information We Access
When you grant the required permissions, the app reads the following on your device:
- File metadata — names, sizes, modification dates, MIME types, and folder paths of files in shared storage (Photos, Videos, Downloads, etc.). Used to identify duplicates, large files, and junk.
- File content (locally only) — image hashes for similar-photo detection. Hashes are computed on-device and not transmitted.
- Device & app info — operating system version, device model, language, app version, free/used storage totals.
- Aggregated analytics — anonymous app-open events, scan completion, and crash reports. No file paths or personal content is included.
- Subscription state — your purchase / trial / renewal status, supplied by Google Play.
2. How We Use Information
- To scan, group, and recommend files for cleanup on your device.
- To verify subscription entitlements with Google Play.
- To diagnose crashes and improve stability.
- To respond when you contact support.
3. What We Do Not Do
- We do not upload the content of your photos, videos, documents, or any user files.
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
- We do not use your data to train any AI model on our servers.
4. Third-Party Services
The app relies on a small number of standard mobile platforms:
- Google Play Billing — handles all subscription purchases, renewals, and refunds. Governed by Google's privacy policy.
- Crash & analytics — anonymous diagnostics may be collected through standard mobile analytics SDKs. Identifiers are not linked to your real identity.
5. Permissions We Request
- Photos & Videos (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_MEDIA_VIDEO) — to detect similar photos, screenshots, and large videos.
- All Files Access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, Android 11+) — to scan the Download folder for APKs, ZIPs, PDFs and other non-media files. You can revoke this at any time in system settings.
6. Data Retention
Scan results are stored in a local database on your device and removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data. We do not retain copies on our servers.
7. Children's Privacy
AI Cleaner is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. EU/UK under GDPR, California under CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or via the listing page in the store. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
